Who We Are

Founded in 1967 as Excel Tool, Inc. by Delbert Kilgas and Dick Elmore, our company began with a strong foundation in tool and die making. As industry demands evolved, we adapted—shifting our focus in 1995 to CNC machining and rebranding as Excel Manufacturing, Inc., responding to the nationwide decline of tool and die work.

In 2020, the third generation proudly joined the team, bringing fresh vision and energy as we look toward Excel’s future and its continued growth for generations to come.

Today, Excel Manufacturing operates from an 82,500-square-foot facility in Seymour, Indiana, employing over 90 skilled professionals. We proudly serve a diverse range of industries, including automotive, off-highway, power generation, recreational vehicles, lawn and garden, and building elevators.

We are committed to precision, performance, and progress—values that have driven our success for more than half a century.

What We Do

Excel Manufacturing specializes in precision CNC machining, offering both turning and milling operations tailored to customer needs. We support a wide range of production volumes—from low-volume runs of 10 to 1,000 pieces EAU, to high-volume production reaching 100,000 to 500,000 pieces EAU.

Our expertise includes machining complex components such as CV joint outer races, bearing outer races, engine blocks, flywheels, flywheel housings, thermostat housings, fuel filter heads, axle housings, engine gear covers, and water/oil transfer connections.

In addition to machining, we offer value-added services including assembly, pressure testing, and Hines part balancing—ensuring that every part meets the highest standards for performance and reliability.
